Yes! In addition to written stories, we create engaging folktale videos that bring these traditional stories to life through voice, visuals, and animation. You can find them on our YouTube and Facebook pages.

Most stories are translated into English, but where possible, we include versions in original African languages (like Swahili, Yoruba, Zulu, and Hausa) along with pronunciation guides or audio.
Our team researches published folklore, oral histories, academic archives, and community submissions. Each story is reviewed for cultural accuracy and respect for its origin.
Yes! We welcome community contributions. You can submit a folktale from your culture or family via our Submit a Story form. Be sure to include the origin, language, and any known background.
Yes, access to the stories is completely free. We believe in open access to Africa’s cultural heritage. Donations or sponsorships are welcome to support our preservation efforts.
Absolutely. Most stories are available under a Creative Commons license for non-commercial use with attribution. For commercial use or adaptations, please contact us for permissions.
African folktales carry the wisdom, values, humour, and worldview of diverse cultures across the continent. They teach life lessons, preserve history, and connect generations through storytelling.
We add new stories regularly — weekly or monthly — and also feature themed collections (e.g., animal stories, tales by region, women in folktales, etc.).
