Mauritian folklore

Many years ago, in the coastal region of Black River on the western side of Mauritius, a close-knit community lived between the mountains and the sea. The villagers depended on one another for survival. Fishermen shared their catch, farmers exchanged crops, and neighbors worked together during difficult times. Their cooperation allowed the community to prosper despite the challenges of island
