From the heights, the people of Insofan could look down upon the forests, rivers, and valleys that stretched endlessly beneath them.

The people of Ikom believed that the forests surrounding their villages were living places, rich with towering trees, winding streams, and mysteries that ordinary eyes could not always understand. Hunters entered the woods with respect, farmers offered thanks for the land’s bounty, and children were warned never to stray beyond
